Most of us would have never suspected there was a link
between these two. Just like most of us wouldn’t have
ever thought that creativity can be efficient.
But what do they actually have in common, after all?
Well, remember when we had to solve an algebra
problem, we would first read the hypothesys, then
simplify the terms using a, b, c or x, y, z, and ended
rewriting the question of the problem (Sum of a+b+c
=?)
And after reading it again in this shorter version, we
would start solving by using the axioms and formulas
known.
As Teodora mentioned yesterday, reading briefs in the
marcomm industry is just like solving algebra or
geometry problems. You are given some facts, some
numbers or coordinates to follow, and what you have to
do is to apply the formulas and tricks known to best
reach the expected results. to get to each target
wanted in the most appropriate way. exploiting niches
and adapting to their needs and representations.
Sounds familiar?
It was simple, yet eye-opening for me and I will put
it to use. Let’s just see if my still got my algebra
with me.
